👋 Who are you?

I’m Jesse Merrick, founder of the Silver & Black Sports Network. Before stepping into the independent media world, I spent 11 years as a sports anchor and reporter in Las Vegas, Alabama, and Colorado, and even freelanced for the Las Vegas Raiders over the years too.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to cover:

  • The Raiders’ move to Las Vegas and every game since

  • Super Bowl LVIII

  • Multiple college football national championships

  • Three Stanley Cup Finals — including the Golden Knights’ first Cup win

  • The Aces’ back-to-back WNBA Championships

  • Formula One races, UFC fights, major boxing events, and more

Most recently, I spent six years covering sports for NBC in Las Vegas. I loved covering everything from the ice to the Octagon — but I’ve always been a football nut, and I always enjoyed covering the Raiders most. I even co-hosted their annual training camp podcast for several years.

I graduated from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California, where I played wide receiver for four seasons. I grew up in SoCal, fell in love with football playing Madden, and never looked back. That passion led me into a career that took me across the country — until I found my home here in Las Vegas, where I live today.
